Why consider it?

Ultra Gobi’s A+ category is a continuous 121 km event with qualifying experience required. It is a substantial step beyond a conventional trail day out.

A single-distance trail race, a nonstop ultra, a staged race and a walking experience are different products. Read the category label, total distance and support model together. A team price may still be charged per runner, and a walking category is not a conventional running entry.

Some ultra categories require evidence of previous finishes. Age rules also differ between shorter, youth and adult entries. Open the exact category in the guide and confirm that your experience meets the organiser’s requirement before paying for travel.

Build the trip around check-in

Start with the category’s confirmed race day, then add in-person collection, briefing and any equipment checks. An event’s overall date range can include several activities. Confirm your arrival night, transfer to the start and return arrangements against the final programme.

Ask for a complete package breakdown

Get written confirmation of what the entry includes: camp nights, meals, water, navigation support, baggage transfers and transport. Add anything excluded to your travel budget. Treat unpublished cutoffs and conflicting package descriptions as questions to resolve, not assumptions to fill in.

No. They have separate programmes and entry categories. Compare their current dates and formats below, then use the linked organiser information for your chosen event.

Which is suitable for a first trail race?

Start by investigating a shorter category and its terrain, cutoff and mandatory kit. An ultra with qualifying finishes is intended for experienced runners. Suru does not treat a short distance or a walking label as proof that an event suits every beginner.
